Does a metal roof cost more than shingles?
More up front, yes. It lasts considerably longer and costs less to cool, so the cost over the life of the roof is closer than the initial price suggests. We price both at the estimate.
Is a metal roof noisy in the rain?
Installed over solid decking and underlayment, as ours are, a metal roof is no louder inside than a shingle roof for most homes.
Is metal a good choice after hail damage?
It is a strong one. Metal stands up to hail and high wind better than most roofs, which is why many homeowners replacing a storm-damaged roof price it alongside asphalt.
Will a metal roof attract lightning?
No. Metal does not make a strike more likely, and a metal roof is non-combustible if one happens.
What is metal roof sealant for?
It is a protective coating applied across an existing metal roof that adds a water-tight layer against moisture and extends the roof’s service life.
